Most people hate going to car lots. The general U.S population are terrified of the entire car buying process. This much I know because I am a sales person at a dealership. Homer Skelton Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Millington to be exact. But Carvana is trying to change that by giving online buyers another option. They want you to think of it like a vending machine. You can test drive the vehicle for a full 7 days. Also, each vehicle goes through a 150 point certification process before being sold. From what I can find this certification comes with a 100 day or 4,189 mile warranty. You also get your vehicle delivered to you on a cute little flat bed truck. I am not positive if there is a delivery fee associated with it as well.
Most peoples major concern is the price. From what I can tell there is no difference in price from contending dealerships. Also, your perks go away when you purchase from Carvana as well. It does not look like you will get any discounts or over allowances on sticker prices. No free oil changes or additional car washes. No coupons when it comes to services either. We all know customers love getting free stuff as much as we love giving! Ok that was a slight exxageration.
All in all it looks like Carvana will be around for awhile. But as a sales professional I feel secure in my job. There is no way to replace the customer service people like me provide. Nice try tho Carvana!
